Chimborazo! is the first simulated rock indoor climbing wall in Washington DC.! It was certainly designed with you in mind. Our attention to detail has created the city's most complete and full-service climbing wall, providing over 1,200 square feet of superb climbing excitement under one roof. Additionally, we have a climbing section that is nearly 40 feet high, making this wall competitive with the "climbing only" facilities.

Safety Check
If you already know the basics of climbing and you are ready to go we will quickly check you out.

Safety Skills Class
This is a 1 hour class to teach or review the basics of climbing equipment and climbing safety. The result will entitle participants to climb on the wall at any time. The maximum number in any class is 8 people.

Cost: $20.00
Rules for climbers:
-Must sign the legal waiver
-Under 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or a legal guardian
-Must pass the Belay Safety Check for Top Rope Climbing
-Must pass the more rigorous lead test for lead climbing
-Must use a UIAA approved harness and any hardware used for safety
-Must climb with a partner unless using the self-belay (must be checked out)
-May "Boulder" without a rope as long as no part of the body goes above 12 feet
-Stand clear of the climber’s fall and swing zones
-Place all belongings in lockers downstairs or simply away from the climbing area
-May NOT use chalk
