Irons in Locker Rooms?
by: T
07/08/2010 - Location: All
I think it would be great to get a small iron/ironing board combination (like what you would have in a hotel room) in the locker rooms! That way people who are going to head straight to work after working out can iron out their clothes that may be crumpled in a gym bag... Although it seems like a good idea, I think the potential for fire/injury outweighs the benefit.

Shower Privacy

I know the gang shower is not completely private. However, does your locker room staff need to come in and refill almost full soap containers while I am still showering? It's awkward to be buck naked while these guys are standing next to me filling bottles. This has happened on several occasions. All they have to do is wait a few minutes until the area is not being used. You will be gone but what about the next guy? Imagine how the fully dressed attendant feels standing next to a naked guy in the shower... That being said, I will remind the staff to be mindful of the personal space of others.

Weights

Repeatedly at the Mount Vernon location it is difficult to find weights to use on the benches. Most commonly the 10 lb weights are gone. In the past it seemed Results had a employee that walked the floor and put weights back in their proper place, this no longer seems to be the case. Also the trainers seem to be the ones guilty of constantly taking the weights to the opposite end of the gym for their clients. Can Results either get more weights or re-hire the floor walkers to keep everything accessible? You are right, The tens seem to travel. People like to use them in the abs area. We will do both... buy more ten pound weights to accommodate the need as well as remind our floor staff and trainers to be diligent about putting weights away".

ventillation

I beg of you, to PLEASE open at least TWO windows in the mens locker room. With the combination on B.O. dirty gym clothes and flatulence, we need more ventilation so the fresh air and get in and the funk can get out!!! Not a pretty picture....openignthe windows when it is this hot would only make it worse. I will follwo up with our HVAC company about additional exhaust fans. Thanks

Steam Room

Patrons are always complaining about out of order steam rooms but they never realize its not the gym's fault, it's the fault of bonehead members who consistently tamper with the equipment. Please inform them that placing a wet towel against the steam pipe to suffocate the sensors and trigger more steam is the perfect way to BREAK the steamer. Well said. Steam rooms are a high maintenace area. Members tampering with the equipment certainly doesn't help.

Loitering

I have been noticing in the last two weeks or so there have been abour 3-5 five guys that loiter inside the entrance of the MTV location. I'm not sure what they are doing there and why they are inside but I don't see them working out-I think they are friends of one of the trainers and wait for him to be done with work). in any event it makes me feel uncomfortable walking by them. Why should they be allowed to gather there for well over an hour every day? Its nto good for your current members and makes them feel uncomrfotable but I would imagine its not good for new business as well. I for one know that I wouldn't join again if I saw this crowd hanging out inside the doors like these guys. I know there are cameras on the downstairs door so I suggest that the staff asks them to leave when seeing them there. Thank you, Peggy If it is the two guys I am familair with, they are members and very nice guys to boot. Unless their conduct becomes inappropriate I see no reason for alarm.

Too hot
by: Jamon

Could you please turn up the air conditioning? It's way too hot in the downtown gym. For example, I was there on Monday and noticed literally no temperature difference between the outside and the inside when I walked through the door. Although, it was nice outside on Monday, it wasn't *that* nice. When I was using the weight room downstairs, I felt drafts of warm air. It made for an unpleasant exercise experience. That's just one example from one day, however. I have noticed this problem for a couple of months. Please make it cooler. Thank you very much. The temperature is kept between 68 and 72 degrees. If you are warm please alert a staff memeber and they can address it.
